Founded by a woman who knows the challenges of PCOS firsthand, and guided by a visionary doctor who has dedicated his career to understanding the complexity of nuanced human conditions . Together, we created Life Source to offer a different path for women who have felt overlooked by traditional medicine. We are more than a supplement company. We are a movement. Our Story
A Journey of Struggle and Isolation
It started with a feeling of deep frustration and loneliness. Lalla Hirayama, a well-known TV personality in South Africa, had a lot going for her from the outside; a successful career, and a life filled with opportunities. But behind the scenes, she was silently battling a health condition that left her feeling helpless, isolated, and misunderstood.In 2016, Lalla was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a condition that would soon take a toll on every part of her life. She sought help from multiple doctors, gynaecologists, endocrinologists, dieticians, and other specialist physicians, but no one could provide any relief that felt worth the time, effort, or cost. Despite numerous visits to experts, Lalla’s symptoms remained uncontrolled, and she found herself no closer to feeling better. This experience made her realize something crucial: not all doctors are made equal. Not all doctors are equipped to understand the intricacies of PCOS, and it’s essential to find medical professionals who truly comprehend the condition and approach it holistically.
A Turning Point – Help Across the Sea
At the time, there were no natural supplements or holistic solutions available that could truly support women with PCOS. Every allopathic treatment she tried only seemed to make things worse, and she felt like she was fighting an invisible battle. Her hormones were out of balance, and the symptoms seemed relentless. She faced weight gain, fatigue, acne, and hair loss. Most frustrating of all was the emotional toll. The stress, anxiety, and the feeling that no one truly understood what she was going through.In her darkest moments, Lalla found herself questioning her worth and what was possible for her health. She felt alone in her struggle, as if no one could truly help her. That was until a conversation with her uncle, Dr. Russell Cooper, an integrative medicine specialist based in Australia, changed everything.
A New Approach to Healing
Dr. Cooper had dedicated his life to understanding and treating complex health conditions. With decades of clinical experience, multiple qualifications, and a passion for helping people, he listened carefully as Lalla shared her pain. His response was simple yet profound: "Let’s take a different approach." He helped Lalla find a way to support her body holistically, using a combination of natural supplements, lifestyle changes, and a personalized approach to healing.For the first time, Lalla began to feel a shift. The multiple supplements Dr. Cooper had prescribed her, combined with his holistic approach, brought her the relief she so desperately needed. It wasn’t an overnight miracle, but it was the beginning of something incredible. Lalla started feeling like herself again. Her energy returned, her skin cleared up, and for the first time, she felt a sense of hope.
Inspiration for Life Source
In that moment, Lalla realised something profound... if this approach could work for her, it could work for so many other women in South Africa who were silently struggling with PCOS and hormonal imbalances. Women who, like her, felt misunderstood and alone. That realisation sparked a vision for Life Source; a brand that would not just sell products but offer real solutions, support, and a sense of community to women who needed it most.
A Legacy of Healing
Lalla is no stranger to the wellness and supplementation business. Growing up surrounded by natural healing influences, she was exposed to the world of alternative health from a young age. Her father, an alternative healer, was one of the first in South Africa to import and distribute Wheat Grass, Barley Grass, Cats Claw, Tea Tree Oil, Sillicol, Flax Seed Oil, Starflax Oil, and many other supplements in the early '90s, building a successful supplementation business called Radiant Technologies. Lalla’s upbringing was shaped by these values of natural wellness and healing, with a grandfather who was a general practitioner, an uncle who is a specialist physician, and a cousin who is a respected professor of medicine and pathology in Ohio, USA. This rich family legacy in health and medicine profoundly influenced her journey and vision for Life Source.

And so, Life Source was born. But it was never meant to be just a business. For Lalla, Life Source is a way of life — a lifestyle rooted in empowerment, understanding, and natural wellness. It’s about creating a space where women can feel supported, heard, and encouraged to take control of their health.

Dr. Cooper, despite his years of experience and multiple qualifications, remains a lifelong learner. He is constantly pursuing new knowledge, studying his next qualification, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in integrative medicine. His dedication to helping people with complex conditions is unwavering. He is not just a doctor; he’s a lifelong student of human health and a passionate advocate for natural healing.
